Southern Nations Meet
La Paz - Presidents of Bolivia, Evo
Morales, Venezuela Hugo Chavez, Ecuador Rafael
Correa and Paraguay Fernando Lugo met here in
commemoration of 200 years of the 1809 Revolution.
The meeting took place after a working breakfast
that was also attended by a Cuban delegation headed
by the Council of Ministers' Vice President of the
island Jorge Luis Sierra.
There were also Brazilian foreign minister Celso
Amorin, Argentine Jorge Taiana, Honduras Patricia
Rodas and Chile Mariano Fernandez.
It was also attended by Paraguayan Foreign Minister
Hector Lacognata and Spanish secretary of State for
Ibero America Juan Pablo de Laiglesia.
Before taking the official photograph in which were
also included Bolivian Vice President Alvaro Garcia
and Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca they focused
on Honduras Coup d'etat last June 28.
The presence of Honduras Foreign Affairs Minister
Patricia Rodas aroused emotions and hope for the
return of constitutional order to the Central
American nation.
The visitors and about 15 Ibero American mayors
accomplished an agenda this Thursday that included
participation in a Bolivarian march of indigenous
people and Five countries troops (Bolivia,
Venezuela, Argentine, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru).
In this civic-military ceremony Presidents Correa
and Chavez and Cuban Vice President Sierra were
decorated wit Tupac Katari distinction recognizing
the solidarity of their peoples and governments with
Bolivia. |
