Zulia, Venezuela for Chavez Rally
Caracas - Members of the United Socialist
Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and other allied political
organizations will rally Thursday in the state of
Zulia in support of President Hugo Chavez.
San Francisco municipality mayor Omar Prieto said
the demonstration will be in defense of the
revolutionary process and for respect of the
physical integrity of the head of State, after
accusations of an assassination attempt organized by
the Venezuelan and Latin American rightwing.
Plots against President Chavez and violent action
encouraged by some private media, won't be allowed,
Prieto said.
The mayor stated that when the rally ends,
demonstrators will move to the Public Ministry to
denounce the owners of Zulia newspaper La Verdad,
for inciting violence against national authorities.
The PSUV also slammed this week media campaigns to
morally and politically assassinate leaders of the
revolutionary process led by Chavez.
