Ticos Letting Down Guard Against AH1N1 Flu Virus

The ministerio de Salud is calling on all Costa Ricans not to let down their guard against the AH1N1 flu virus, as the total of confirmed cases climbed to 83 at the end of last week.

In the last report issued by the ministerio de Salud on Friday, June 5, 1.698 cases have been investigated since April 24, of which 1.506 were discarded. Another 107 are still under study, waiting on the results of the Inciensa.

One person, a 53 year old man with diabetes and pulmonary complications is the only victim of the AH1N1 virus in Costa Rica.

The majority of cases (60%) have been reported in the Área Metropolitana (San José).
