Costa Rican
Medical Care Offers PET/CT Scans
Costa Rican Medical Care, a medical tourism
agency specializing only in Costa Rican
medical providers is now able to offer
PET/CT scans in Costa Rica.
The Center for Medical Imaging (CIMED0 has
purchased and installed the first PET/CT
scan machine in Central America and the
Caribbean. Positron Emission Tomography,
also called PET imaging or PET scan, is a
type of diagnostic imaging nuclear medicine.
"Costa Rican Medical Care’s Tim Morales
says, "After visiting their new state of the
art clinic in Heredia, Costa Rica, we are
very impressed. But the cost savings is the
most important element. These same tests in
the US can range between $3000 and $6000.
People can now get these same tests done in
Costa Rica at a fraction of the costs.
Saving people money on health care costs is
our goal. Using CIMED for the PET scan can
save them thousands of dollars."
For many diseases, nuclear medicine scans
provide the most useful information needed
to carry out a diagnosis or to determine
appropriate treatment, without any risk to
the patient. |
