Brazil FM Visits Colombia
Brasilia - Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso
Amorim is expected to kick off a state visit of
Colombia to discuss bilateral and regional issues at
the invitation of his peer Jaime Bermudez.
On Monday in Cartagena, Amorim and Bermudez are
scheduled to co-chair the first meeting of the
Brazil-Colombia Bilateral Committee, established by
presidents of both nations on February 17 this year,
on occasion of the visit of Colombian President
Alvaro Uribe.
A release issued by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry
says that both Amorim and Bermudez are expected to
review results of the meetings of the 6th Working
Group of the Brazil-Colombia Technical Cooperation
and of the 4th Joint Committee on Culture, Education
and Sports.
They are also scheduled to discuss the results of
the Third Meeting of the Brazil-Colombia Executive
Working Group on an agenda including activities of
the Program of Import Competitive Replacement.
Amorim is scheduled to be received by President
Alvaro Uribe before travelling to Cartagena on
Monday.
