Youth March for Cuban Five in Peru

Lima - The progressive victory that revoked the exclusion of Cuba in the OAS boosts in Peru the struggle against the blockade on the island and for the release of five Cuban anti-terrorists jailed in the United States.

President of the Peruvian Solidarity Committee with the Five, Gustavo Espinoza, thus said in the rally held before the residence of the US ambassador to Peru, demanding freedom for the Cuban prisoners.

The meeting culminated an enthusiastic youth march that covered the center of Lima to demand freedom for Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez, the five anti-terrorist fighters imprisoned in the United States.

The march started at the Plaza Dos de Mayo to the Washington Plaza, located in front of the US ambassador�s residence.

Espinoza highlighted the recent progressive Latin American victory that made the Organization of American States (OAS) annuled the expulsion of Cuba and said that now what is more important is to end the US blockade on Cuba.

He also called to strengthen actions oriented to spread and achieve the release of the Cuban fighters, condemned in judicial processes without due guarantees according to lawyers of several countries.

Also the president of the Peruvian Youth Committee in Solidarity with the Five, Teresa Leandro, congratulated participants for the outstanding participation of Peru in this world solidarity journey with the Five.

In the rally participated members of the houses of friendship with Cuba and other organizations and solidarity personalities.

The rally included a cultural program with singer-songwriter Mariela Perez and other popular artists.
