Cubans Protected from Crisis
Havana - All Cubans will be protected
from the impact of the world economic crisis on the
country, Economy and Planning Minister Marino
Murillo affirmed.
In statements published Sunday by Juventud Rebelde
daily, the minister warned of the measures being
implemented on the island to face the international
crisis, particularly the food consumption plan.
The country is not responsible for the economic
crisis but will be affected as well, even more now
that it is difficult to obtain easy payment terms
and credits, he noted.
Meanwhile, Deputy Economy and Planning Minister
Julio Vazquez pointed out income has dropped and it
is necessary to readjust the growth plan, which
implies saving energy and oil.
Cuba's investment capacity may well decrease, "in
fact, it has been reduced deliberately, because it
is imperative to focus on what is strictly
indispensable," Chavez stressed. |
