Orders Salesman To Stop Seeking Costa Rica
Tree Investors
The Colorado Department of Regulatory
Agencies has ordered Gregory Fitzpatrick, of
Boulder, to stop seeking investors for a
Costa Rican tree farm.
Colorado Securities Commissioner Fred Joseph
announced Thursday that Fitzpatrick was
given a cease-and-desist order in connection
with Finca Leola, a purported reforestation
company.
Fitzpatrick, has been seeing investors in
the company without first registering the
offering with Colorado securities
authorities.
Fitzpatrick has been working with Fred
Morgan, the owner of the company located in
Alajuela, Costa Rica.
The prevention is avoid possible investors
from being defrauded, investing in mahogany
and teakwood trees, who were asked to
purchase a minimum of 100 trees from between
$37 and $45 per tree.
Fitzpatrick and Morgan agreed to the order,
and as part of that deal, they also agreed
not to comment on the case. |
