Venezuela Anti-Drug Program
Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez
implemented the 2009-2013 National Anti-Drug Program
to deter trafficking.
The program shows community and official concern
with a body of laws to prevent, control and educate
the people and coincided with a $40 million
allocation to the National Police.
Such actions reinforce President Chavez government
policy, that unlike his predecessors, he refuses to
follow the dictates of the US Drug Enforcement
Agency (DEA).
Venezuela severed co-operation with the DEA whose
methods violate the national Constitution.
As an example Chavez reminded that more than
fighting drug trafficking the DEA has created true
Mafias in Latin America. |
