Public Employees Get Entire Semana Santa Off
Public employees will get the entire Semana
Santa holiday off, the government announced
yesterday following a session of the
cabinet.
Unlike in the last three years, where
government employ holidays have been reduced
to a minimum, this year for Semana Santa
public employees will be off work from
Monday April 6 and return to work on Monday
April 13. And because government employees
do no work on weekends, the Semana Santa
vacation period turns out to be 10 days.
Last year, as with the previous two years,
government employees were required to work
from Monday to Wednesday during Semana
Santa, having only Good Thursday and Good
Friday, both legal holidays, off.
The announcement was made by Rodrigo Arias,
ministro de la Presidencia.
Government offices will also be closed
during the entire week of Semana Santa. |
