Four More Cases of AH1N1 Reported In the Last 24 Hours: Total Now 37

The ministerio de Salud (Costa Rican Health Ministry) Wednesday confirmed 37 cases of AH1N1 flu in the country and were waiting for the test results of two "highly possible" cases. The latest four cases were added in the last 24 hours.

Among the new cases, Salud authorities include a young girl suffering from asthma and is in the Hospital Nacional de Niños (Children's hospital) and two more at the hospital siquiátrico (psychiatric) in Pavas.

The ministra de Salud, María Luisa Ávila, says that although the cases are increasing it is not the same as in places like Chile where the number of cases have shot up.

In total 1.349 cases have been investigated by the ministerio de Salud since April 24, of which 1.206 have been discarded and 106 are still under investigation by the laboratory of the Instituto Costarricense de Investigación y Enseñanza en Nutrición y Salud (Inciensa).
