Dengue Worries Paraguay
ASUNCION - Paraguayan authorities are
concerned about the number of patients with
dengue in the country.
In this sense, on Wednesday they insist on
preventing work to avoid this disease
transmitted by aegyptis aedes mosquito.
Through some media the Ministry of Public
Health and Social Welfare circulate the
importance of destroying the breeding sites
of the vector.
It warns about a possible spread of the
epidemic after Easter, because in this
period many people usually moves interior of
the country, border areas and abroad.
Just the capital Central Hospital of Social
Welfare Institute registers more than 340
suspected dengue cases and 79 confirmed.
In this regard the department of
Epidemiology at the medical institution
insists on the increase to the maximum the
prevention against the disease.
The total of confirmed dengue cases in
Paraguay from November through March, rose
to 2.511.
