Central Pacific Beaches Filled To The Brim

Reports from the beaches have come in and they all have one thing in common, all the beaches are reported crowded. One report described the "puerto" (Puntarenas) as an "hormiguero" (anthill), as people packed every square centimetre of the beach.

Othee Central Pacific popular beaches likes Manuel Antonio and Jacó were basically the same.

In Manuel Antonio the likes to get to the beach were up to a kilometre long and absolutely every parking space in the lots and the street filled with cars. Some reported that they gave up on finding a space and decided to seek out nearby beaches.

Semana Santa, especially Thursday to Saturday, is beach time in Costa Rica.

Just about everyone heads out to the closest beaches - Puntarenas and Jacó - and now with the new highway, Quepos/Manuel Antonio is only two hours away instead of the 3 plus hours in the past.

Most come prepared with tents, awnings, bbq, outdoor stoves, ice coolers, chairs and anything that can be crammed into the family vehicle and used on the beach and parks.

And due to the new San José - Caldera, many this year decided to make a day trip, adding to the already congested beaches.

The Guanacaste, the Southern Zone and Limón beaches were also busy, but nothing like the Central Pacific.
