Transition To Rainy Season In Costa Rica Has Begun

The next few weeks will see the transition of the "dry" season to the "rainy" season throughout the country according to the national weather service, the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN).

The transition will first be in the Pacific south regions, then the Northern Zone and Caribbean, followed by the Central valley and lastly the Guanacaste region.

The change is marked by clouds in the afternoon and scattered showers in some areas.

The rain during the transition is nothing like that of the rainy reason, it is light in comparison, lasts only a few minutes and really only raised the dust.

Rebeca Morera of the IMN says that the entire country will be in full "rainy season" swing by May 15.

If you can rely on the forecasts, the rainy season should be in the Central Valley the week of May 6 to 10.
