Dollar Keeps Dropping

The US dollar dropped even further against the Costa Rican Colon in trading on Monday, trading at ˘513 for the sell and ˘525 for the buy at Scotiabank, a colon or two higher at other private and state banks.

The Banco Central de Costa Rica (Central Bank) set the reference exchange rate this morning at ˘515.27 (buy) and ˘525.39 (sell) a low that was last see a few years ago.

The Central Bank currently has a floor limit of ˘500 colones and a ceiling of ˘600. Banks and financial institutions cannot trade outside of the low and high band set by the Central Bank.
