Honduran Presidential
Commissioner Dies After Robbery In Guatemala
TEGUCIGALPA - The Presidential Commissioner
for the southern zone of Honduras, Salomon
Jaar, has died in Guatemala after a robbery,
said Reinaldo Sanchez, private secretary of
Honduran president, on Thursday.
"On Wednesday we were officially informed by
the Guatemalan government during a phone
call with the private secretary of
Guatemalan president, Gustavo Alejos, about
Jaar's death", Reinaldo Sanchez said.
Jaar died of a heart attack after being
robbed on a highway 30 kilometers away from
Guatemala City when he was driving a car
with his relatives.
Jaar took office in February and managed the
reactivation of the aid and financing of
agriculture for the southern zone of
Honduras.
