Presidents Meet
MANAGUA - Strengthening the Central American
Integration System (SICA), and normalization
of relations with Honduras centered a
meeting between the Presidents of Nicaragua,
Daniel Ortega, and Guatemala, Alvaro Colom.
The presidents met last night at the Managua
air terminal, during a technical stopover
upon Colom's return to Guatemala from
Colombia.
The meeting aimed at paving the way for the
best possible climate allowing
reestablishment of harmonious relations in
Central America, said Ortega's wife Rosario
Murillo, coordinator of Nicaragua's
Communication and Citizenship Council.
The gathering also favored the continuity of
exchanges to strengthen SICA, she added.
The foreign ministries and the presidents
have been working together to seek ways to
re-establish cordial ties among regional
countries, through SICA, Murillo stated.
