Gasoline Price
Hike Approved
For Next Week
Although
gasoline prices
are going down
next month (see
report)
due to the fall
in the dollar,
the Autoridad
Reguladora de
Servicios
Públicos (Aresep)
approved on
Monday an
increase of to
take effect next
week.
The Aresep
approved an
increase of ¢35
colones for a
litre of super,
¢31 for regular
and ¢21 for
diesel.
The higher
prices are to
take effect on
Wednesday, April
21, the day
after it is to
be published in
the official
government
publication, La
Gaceta.
Carolina Mora,
spokesperson for
the Aresep, gave
the bad news at
a press
conference
Monday
afternoon.
With the
increase, the
price of a litre
of super
gasoline will
jump from ¢593
to ¢628; regular
from ¢566 to
¢597; and diesel
from ¢494 to
¢515. |
