Chávez and Nicaraguan
President Agree To Restart Construction Of
Refinery
MANAGUA - Committed to strengthen bilateral
cooperation, Venezuelan President Hugo
Chávez and his Nicaraguan counterpart Daniel
Ortega agreed to implement several projects
in economic, political and social areas.
Chávez stressed at a press conference that
the projects included resumption of the
construction of a refinery in northwestern
Nicaragua; the construction of a
regasification plant and another plant to
manufacture fertilizers, as well as the
purchase of a boat to double purchases of
live cattle and exports of liquefied gas
from Venezuela to Nicaragua.
The Venezuelan ruler estimated that
Nicaragua would export oil products in 2019.
"Today, they import everything," he said.
