Back, Kill
Suspect
Four men in a
vehicle has been
seen driving up
and down the
area of Santa
Rosa de Santo
Domingo when
they decided to
assault the
tractor trailer
parked on the
side of the
road. With the
big score in
mind, the four
took control of
the truck full
of groceries
headed for a
local
supermarket,
thinking nobody
was watching.
However, a call
to the local
police station
sent a patrol
car to
investigate the
alleged robbery,
surprising the
group in the
act.
The men fled the
scene and police
gave chase.
The men started
shooting at
police, the
police officers
shot back, the
driver losing
control and
slammed into a
ditch, ending
the short car
chase. But not
the shooting.
Police shot back
again, this time
wounding one of
the suspects and
taking the other
three into
custody. The
wounded man
later died in
hospital.
The officers
were cleared of
any wrong doing,
an investigation
revealing that
they acted in
self defense.
The victim in
the shootout had
a long police
record, having
been arrested on
at least 35
occasions from
robbery to
assault.
