Laura Sets Tone
For Her
Administration
"If after
defining the
priorities, the
ministers want
to do other
things, they are
welcome, as long
as the
collective
priorities are
clear", were the

president-elect,
Laura
Chinchilla, of
her designated
ministers and
institutions
heads, in the
first meeting of
her designated
government.
The meeting
brought together
all the people
that will be
part of doña
Laura's
administration,
save of the
appointed
ministers of
Agricultura and
Planificación,
Gloria Abraham
and Laura
Alfaro, who took
part in the "encerrona"
by Skype.
The big meeting
took place at
the INCAE in
Alajuela, after
which
president-elect
Chinchilla spoke
to the press,
saying that the
main priority on
May 8, the day
she takes the
office of the
president, is
will be about
public safety
and security,
environment and
social security.
Chinchilla said
that on May 8,
an immediate
action will take
place in the 10
most conflictive
areas in the
country,
emphasis will be
placed on a
national day
care network in
partnership with
private business
and a decree
against open pit
mining.
Other priorities
of the
Chinchilla
administration
will be the
production of
clean energy,
attraction of
foreign
investment and

regulation for
casino and
online betting.
