Nicaragua Daily: US Legislator, an Enemy

MANAGUA - From Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, we can only expect fascist expressions and fanatical defense of terrorism and US hegemony, the Bolsa de Noticias newspaper said in this capital on Monday.

The daily published an article about the political work by the House's Republican Party congresswoman, who requested a meeting of the Organization of American States (OAS) to analyze the supposed crisis in Nicaragua.

The text recalled that Ros-Lehtinen, of Cuban origin, has been accused of receiving undeclared contributions to her campaigns from important undertakings, including Enron, McDonald and Coca Cola, as well as the Zionist US Congress lobby.

Ros-Lehtinen became a congressional ultra-right spokeswoman and defender of the genocidal Israeli policies against the Palestinian people and of the plots against Cuba, the newspaper said.

In this reference, it recalled her defense of the blockade against the Caribbean nation and her support to terrorist groups that operate against the island from the United States, including notorious Luis Posada Carriles.

The text also mentions the congresswoman's support to the Honduran putschists. Ileana Ross-Lehtinen has been an efficient US ultra-right instrument to attack the Cuban Revolution, the ALBA and the progressive nations in Latin America, the article said.
