of the famous
Colombian drug
trafficker,
Pablo Escobar,
tells the story
of his father,
who had strong
ties to Costa
Rica.
In the
documentary "Los
Pecados de mi
Padre" ("The
Sins of my
Father:)
released by
Marroquin, we
can see Escobar
walking the
streets in San
José with two
famous
politicians and
are told that in
the late 1980's,
Escobar was
ready to buy to
major hotels in
Costa Rica.

Juan Pablo
Escobar, rather
than following
in his father’s
murderous
footsteps in
Colombia,
settled in
Argentina. He
married his
longtime
Colombian
girlfriend and
works as an
architect. To
avoid notoriety
and harassment,
he has changed
his name to
Sebastian
Marroquin.
For years,
Marroquin
avoided the
media.
Pablo Escobar
was gunned down
on a Medellin,
Colombia,
rooftop in 1993.
Pablo Escobar's

popular with
tourists.
Visiting the
former home of a
famous person is
pretty common.

But exploring
the former
compound of a
Colombian drug
lord....well
that seems a
little less
likely. Yet
aparently Pablo
Escobar's
Hacienda Napoles
, located
outside of
Bogota, Colombia
, is a hit with
tourists.
Though Escobar
was shot to
death sixteen
years ago, he
lives on in
infamy in the
Colombia.
