Nicaragua Increasing Food Exports to Venezuela

MANAGUA - Nicaraguan food exports to Venezuela will substantially grow per annum, said on Tuesday Forestry and Agriculture Minister Ariel Bucardo.

The rise results from a sale contract renewed during President Hugo Chavez's April 14 visit. The deal will increase exports to Venezuela three and four-fold: 24,000 tons of beef, black beans (20,000t), coffee (300,000t), and calves.

The sales will include new products like corn (white and yellow) flavored milk, poultry, soy oil and raw sugar.

Minister Bucardo made the announcement at a work meeting in Jinotega Department for the contract will mostly boost local agribusiness in this province.
