Paper Replaces
Plastic For
Bread At
Bakeries
Next time you
buy bread at
your local
bakery don't be
surprised the
bag inside is
filled with your
favourite bread
and the outside
filled without
advertising,
lots of local of
advertising.

The bags are
being
distributed by
Publipan free to
all bakeries and
supermarkets
asking for it,
replacing
plastic bags.
The advertising
is geared to the
local market,
that is the ads
in the bags used
in Cartago will
be different
than those in
Alajuela and San
José, for
instance.
Publipan said it
is donating ˘20
centimos (20th
of a colon) for
each bag to the
Fundación
Corcovado.
The first
400.000 bags are
already in the
market with the
main sponsors
being Coca Cola
and Del Valle
juices.
Replacing the
plastic with
paper is not
only good for
the environment,
but keeps the
bread's
freshness
longer.
Supermarkets
like Automercado
have been giving
customers the
option of paper
or plastic for
some time. |
