Police Raid Funeral
Home To Confiscate Body
Hey, we're the cops, we're here to haul off
the body, we words that could have been
spoken by a group of police officials who
were sent to the católico de Mansión, in
Nicoya, Guanacaste, to confiscate the body
at a wake.
It appears that the body of 70 year old José
Diego Castillo Milanés on January 9th, who
died in hospital after being a victim of a
hit and run, was released to family before a
mandatory autopsy was performed.
Police say that a medical doctor released
the body before it was sent to the morgue in
San Joaquín de Flores, Heredia, and as such
were dispatched to recover it at the funeral
home where it was being displayed before
burial.
The Organismo de Investigacion Judicial (OIJ)
says it is investigating the hit and run
accident and needs the forensic exam results
to make its case.
The hospital in Liberia is now also
investigating the circumstances of the
serious error. |
