TSE Confirms No "Serious" Problems In
Today's Voting
Luis Antonio Sobrado is perhaps the most
important Costa Rican during the next couple
of hours, for as president of the Tribunal
Supremo de Elecciones (TSE), he has the
responsibility and obligation, to bring to
Costa Rica the results of the day's voting,
as all eyes and ears are tuned to the TSE to
declare the country's next president.
Sobrado said a little after 6pm, minutes
after the voting centres closed, that the
day's voting closed without any "serious"
incidents.
"We do not have any serious report that
affected the free vote", said Sobrado.
The TSE president confirmed that the first
results would be available at 8:30pm, even
though the major parties have set up their
own communications line from the various
voting centres to get results as votes are
counted.
Sobrado said that the first results would
include about 10% of the votes and that by
midnight they expect to have at least 80% of
the votes counted.
