Galaxy to play
Puntarenas of Costa Rica
By Grahame L. Jones
You could call it a game of Bruce Arena's
versus Puntarenas.
Or perhaps not.
On Friday, the Galaxy announced that it
would play Puntarenas FC of Costa Rica in an
international friendly match on March 10 at
Titan Stadium on the campus of Cal State
Fullerton.
Arena, the Galaxy coach, will use the 7:30
p.m. match as preparation for the team's
March 27 Major League Soccer season opener
against the New England Revolution at Home
Depot Center.
The Los Angeles Galaxy is
an American, professional soccer club based
in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson,
California. The club is a member of Major
League Soccer (MLS). It is one of the ten
charter franchises of MLS and is the
league's second most-decorated club, after
D.C. United. The name "Galaxy" is derived
from Los Angeles being home to the 'stars'
of Hollywood. |
