Chavez Calls Venezuelans to Build Socialism
CARACAS - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called upon
different Venezuelan sectors to work
together in the construction of socialism,
to guarantee social justice and the creation
of true human values.
In his Sunday address "Las líneas de
Chavez," the president said celebrations for
the bicentenary of independence on April 19
should mark the beginning of the two
decisive decades for the materialization of
that political and socioeconomic model.
"The 2010-2030 period will be definite, the
time when we will make possible a new world:
Socialism, the Kingdom of Justice, as
Bolivar said, the Kingdom of mankind," he
pointed out.
Unity is the key to consolidate the process
of change started with his arrival in power
eleven years ago, according to him.
"We are heading that way. Let us join our
standards, our songs, our emotions, because
the battle will be as long as beautiful,"
Chavez stated.
For the president, supporters of that model
demonstrated their strength Thursday when a
mass mobilization marked the Day of Dignity,
to recall the civic-military uprising he
headed on February 4, 1992 against the
neoliberal government of Carlos Andres
Perez.
In his Sunday address, the president
reiterated the importance of the uprising,
which marked the course of the process of
change known there as Bolivarian Revolution. |
