Haitian Interior Minister to Colombia

BOGOTA - Haitian Minister of Interior Paul Antoine is reportedly starting on Monday a visit to Colombia to receive first-hand information on works and projects included in the Reconstruction Fund (FOREC) applied in Armenia, Quindio department.

After his visit to that capital, Antoine, who was invited by the national government, will hold a working meeting with his Colombian peer, Fabio Valencia, and Deputy Minister of Interior Viviana Manrique, the local foreign ministry informed.

The two officials will give the visitor a report on Colombia's work in the first and second phases of the humanitarian aid for the country after the quake.

Antoine will be then welcomed by President Alvaro Uribe, with Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez, Minister Valencia and the Director of Social Action Diego Molano, attending the gathering as well.

The meeting's objective is to formally present the Colombian proposal for the Haitian reconstruction, a document to be made known Tuesday during the extraordinary summit of the South American Union of Nations in Quito, Ecuador.
