Gasoline Price Hike To Take Effect Wednesday

Get ready to pay higher gasoline prices on Wednesday, the day following the publication of the latest approved increase takes place.

At 12:01am Wednesday, gasoline stations around the country change their prices at the pumps, increase the cost of fuel by ¢39 colones for a litre of super, ¢26 for regular and ¢40 for diesel.

Natural compressed gas, kerosene and jet fuel also increase on Wednesday.

The Autoridad Reguladora de Servicios Público (Aresep) approved the latest increase, citing the price of crude oil on international markets and the drop in the colon exchange rate against the US dollar.

This will be the first increase of 2010.
