Panama Rescues Five
American Castaways
PANAMA - A patrol of the Panamanian
Air-Naval Service (Senam) on Monday rescued
five U.S. castaways, after their yacht
drifted in the Panamanian Pacific coasts.
The Senam said in a statement that the crew
of the "Bristol Rose" yacht was rescued on
Monday morning at 60 nautical miles to Jaque
town in Darien province, border with
Colombia.
The Senam said that the rescued were all
members of the same family, and all of them
are U.S citizens.
They were 11 hours drifting and after being
rescued, they were taken to the port of Pila
Bay, where they received medical assistance.
The U.S. citizens are in good conditions,
and they have exhaustion symptoms.
