PROCOMER Is Looking For New Business Options

At least 25 business appointments is what 5 Costa Rican companies expect to make during the course of the next trade mission for agricultural exporters, that the Foreign Trade Corporation (PROCOMER) will conduct on the 11th to 13th of November in Santiago de Chile .

During this meeting businesses like Ticas Swiss, Tropical Fruit, Corporacion Hermanos Suarez, Furtas Exoticas, Frutera la Paz and Del Oro, will seek to promote South American country's national exportable supply of products such as pineapple, banana, rambutan, mango, papaya, melon and orange juice in its different presentations.

As part of the Costa Rican mission, employers will receive, on arrival, lectures about doing business in the agricultural sector in Chile presented by the international exhibitors Tamara Gálvez and Alfredo Morini. They will also hold meetings with their counterparts and visit the central supplers and outlets which are the most recognized in the Chilean market.

"Through this mission we seek to identify new business opportunities for our farmers, enabling them to offer their products in a market of more than 16 million people, which is necessary to be very competitive and make the most of the benefits granted by the North American Free Trade Agreement between Costa Rica and Chile for over 7 years, said Emmanuel Hess, General Manager PROCOMER.

"This visit is the second mission of this year. Last March a mission of agro-industrial professionals visited Santiago (Chile)"

It is worth mentioning that according to official data PROCOMER exports to Chile in 2008 reached a cumulative value of us$23.9 million. The main products being sent abroad for prepared foods, medicines, tires, leaves and strips of aluminum, baby diapers and textiles, among others.
