Rain in Argentina: One
Death and Girl Missing
BUENOS AIRES - The rainfall that battered
the Argentinean province of Cordoba, 435
miles northeast from the capital, caused one
death and the disappearance of a girl on
Monday early morning.
The victim was the passenger of a taxi, who
drowned after the waters of Suquia River
swept away the vehicle he was in.
A police contingent helped the driver and
one of the two passengers in the car, taking
them to a hospital, where the citizen's
death by drowning was corroborated,
according to Telam news agency.
A nine-year-old girl, who lived with her
father under a bridge, was also swept away
by the waters of the river and is still
missing.
The intense rainfall in Cordoba early Monday
morning caused the flooding of the Suquia
River, which runs through the city, and as a
consequence, tens of cars remain stopped
into the waters. |
