Heat Wave To Continue
Until Wednesday
Was it hot enough for you? According to the
Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN),
Monday was the second hottest day of this
year in downtown San José, when the
temperature reached 28.9 degrees Celsius
(84.02 Fahrenheit).
The hottest day recorded so far for his year
was on February 5 when the mercury tolled
31.3 Celsius (88.34 Fahrenheit).
The rest of the country also recorded high
temperatures, hitting 37.7 Celsius (99.8
Fahrenheit) in Bagaces, Guanacaste.
The temperature around the country hovered
over 30 Celsius in most areas outside of
downtown San José: Liberia 36.4; La Garita,
Alajuela, 32.3; the San José airport 31.3;
Pavas 30.3 and San Pedro 31.3.
Rebeca Morera of the IMN added that the
humidity made it feel even hotter.
The heat Wave is expected to continue until
Wednesday, with hot sunny mornings and
cloudy afternoons, typical of the rainy
season but with no rain, other than isolated
showers in some areas.
The IMN also warns of high ultraviolet
radiation levels. |
