2010 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Laura 44%, Otto 27%
and Ottón 12%
With a little more than two weeks to go
before the presidential elections are held,
Laura Chinchilla continues in the lead,
while Otto Guevara is picking up speed and
support, while Ottón Solís drags his feet
and Luis Fishman continues to calls himself
"the least bad" of all the others.
That is the positioning of the presidential
candidates by the latest poll by CID Gallup,
where Laura Chinchila of the Partido
Liberación Nacional (PLN) holds a firm lead
at 44%; Otto Guevara of the Movimiento
Libertario (ML) has improved his standing at
27% of voter support; Ottón Solís of the
Partido Acción Cuidadana (PAC) has a 12%
support; and, Luis Fishman of the Partido
Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC) gained a few
points, is now with 10% support.
Óscar López, candidate for the Partido
Accesibilidad Sin Exclusión (PASE) is with a
2% support, while Rolando Araya of the
Alianza Patriótica (AP) holds steady his 1%;
and Walter Muñoz, of the Integración
Nacional (PIN); Eugenio Trejos, of the
Frente Amplio; and Mayra González, of the
Renovación Costarricense, all have 1%
support as well.
The CID Gallup poll was taken between
January 11 and 17 and takes into account the
response of 1.105 interviews done door to
door and on the telephone in all parts of
the country.
