Education to Reach 1.6
Million Nicaraguan Children
MANAGUA - More than a million Nicaraguan
children will accede to the classrooms and
free education, as reported by the
Nicaraguan Education Ministry Wednesday.
The registration for the new 2010 school
course started, and Nicaraguan Education
Minister Miguel de Castilla said that was
just the beginning, as a sample of the
commitment of the government of President
Daniel Ortega to give priority to free
education as a right of each citizen.
De Castilla pointed out that there is no
obstacle for the registration, called to
absolute guarantee offering, for no demands
of birth certificates, school uniforms, or
any obstacle for children or disabled
people.
He added that the snack includes items like
cereal, milk, beans, rice and others.
Transportation is also guaranteed as part of
a greater structure of the Nicaraguan
government, as for instance, the Hambre Cero
Operation.
The Nicaraguan Education Ministry informed
that the Prosecutor Office for Human Rights
in Nicaragua (PDDH) will develop a process
of fiscalization to verify the fulfilment of
the constitutional right to the education.
