Chilean Airline Plans to
Invest Billions in Peru
LIMA - Lan, the Chilean airline
announced an investment of billions, this
and next year, in the acquisition of
aircrafts to increase the fleet with which
Peru operates.
The company operates here under the name of
Lan Peru, with domestic and international
flights, and its general manager, Jorge
Vilches, said Wednesday the investment will
also help to have more technology.
He said that part of that amount will be
invested in the acquisition, this year, of
four small planes and two Boeing 767, the
latter for international flights, and added
that the Peruvian market growth justifies
the investment.
According to Vilches, next year the company
will purchase five aircrafts, including the
modern Boeing 787, with maximum capacity for
350 passengers.
The executive said the company he represents
has invested three billions in the 11 years
of operation in Peru. |
