TEC Head Under
Investigation
For Embezzlement
The head of the
Instituto
Tecnológico de
Costa Rica
(TEC), Eugenio
Trejos, and four
others are being
investigated by
the Fiscalía
(prosecutor) for
embezzlement,
illicit
enrichment and
misappropriation
of funds.
The five have
been called in
to the Ficalía
to answer
questions of the
goings on at the
TEC and their
role in
obstructing
investigators
looking into the
case.
Agents of the
economic crimes
of the Judicial
Police have been
for weeks
investigating
Trejos and the
others,
resulting in a
raid of the TEC
main offices in
Carago.
The case is now
in the hands of
forensic
auditors.
Trejos
voluntarily
arrived at the
Fiscalía at 11am
on Thursday,
accepting that
his interview
was that of a
defendant.
