Hunter, The Four Legged Drug Trafficker's Nightmare In Costa Rica

Costa Rica's top drug trafficking crime fighter is none other than a four legged Belgian Shepherd (Malinois) named "Hunter" that has a nose for sniffing out illicit drugs at the Juan Santamaría (San José) international airport.

Hunter, along with its trainer, has been singled handedly (ok, single pawed) been responsible for the confiscation of more than us$1 million dollars in illegal drugs.

Hunter has grown up in the Fuerza Pública's canine unit.

A dog with similar training could be valued at us$5.000 dollars. But, Hunter, due to his excellent career choices, is worth at least four times that.

So, the next time you are at the San José airport, remember Hunter is on the job keeping the airport free of illegal drugs.
