Homosexual
Groups Cling To
The Fight
Against The
Referendum
The possibility
of a referendum
to allow
homosexual
marriages, is
ever closer. The
referendum is to
be included in
the year end
municipal
elections if
proponents of
the bill manage
to obtain the
number of
signatures
required by the
Tribunal Supremo
de Elecciones
(TSE).
However,
opponent gay
groups are not
sitting on their
hands and say
they are working
in different
ways to prevent
the bill from
going to
referendum and
approval.
And if their
tactics don't
stall the
process, they
vow that the
proponents of
the bill will
get a surprise,
though no
details were
given.
If the pro gay
marriage group
are able to
obtain the
signatures,
Costa Ricans
will be able to
vote for or
against gay
marriages in the
December
elections.
