ICE Facilitates
Outstanding
Amounts On
Telephone And
Electricity
Bills
Knowing what you
owe on your
telephone bill -
both cellular
and fixed line -
and your
electricity bill
is as close at
the palm of your
hand.
The Instituto
Costarricense de
Electricidad
(ICE) has
launched a new
system that can
provide its
customers the
information by
way of SMS text
messaging from
any cellular
telephone.
By dialing
"4231" and
sending a text
message with the
words, "RECIBO"
or "FACTURA",
ICE's automated
system will send
a response with
the amount
outstanding.
How it works is
that texting the
words followed
by a space and
the telephone
number of the
telephone bill
being consulted.
For electricity
bills, customers
have to dial
"4323", type in
the word "NISE",
a space and the
account number
(that is the
NISE).
The service does
not cost
anything and is
available 24/7.
In addition, for
those consults
from a land line
(or cell phone
without text
messaging)
customers can
call 115 (for
landlines), 193
(for cellular
lines) or 187
(for electricity
bills) and ask
the operator to
provide the
information.
Also, the
oustanding
amounts are
available online
at
www.grupoice.com.
