Pacific On
"Green" Alert
For Tropical
Wave
The Comisión
Nacional de
Prevención de
Riesgos y
Atención de
Emergencias (CNE)
has called a
"green" alert
for the Cental
Pacific,
Chorotega and
Brunca regions
due to a low
pressure system
in Pacific that
has caused heavy
rains Friday
afternoon and
evening over the
Nicoya
Peninsula.
The Tropical
Wave is expected
to hit most of
the country
during the
weekend,
according to the
IMN - national
weather service.
In addition to
the Pacific, the
IMN is
prediciting
heavy rains in
the north
Pacific regions,
the Central
Valley and the
Caribbean coast.
The communities
under green
alert are: La
Cruz, Carrillo,
Santa Cruz,
Nicoya, Hojancha,
Nandayure,
Puntarenas,
Parrita,
Esparza,
Aguirre,
Garabito, Osa,
Corredores,
Buenos Aires,
Golfito, Coto
Brus and Pérez
Zeledón.
