One Killed, 17 Injured In
Explosion In Colombia
BOGOTA - At least one person was
killed and 17 were injured in an explosion
in Colombia's northwestern province of
Antioquia, local authorities said Friday.
The explosion occurred on Thursday near a
commercial warehouse in the town of Apartado,
said Antioquia government secretary Julian
Andres Rendon.
The injured, including two children, were
receiving treatment at a local hospital.
The warehouse is located in a populated
area, said Rendon, who believed the
explosive device was detonated by guerrillas
of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of
Colombia (FARC).
Rendon said he has offered a reward of 100
million pesos (about 51,000 U.S. dollars)
for the capture of a FARC leader known as "Darlinson,"
allegedly the mastermind of the attack.
