The Banco Nacional and Mastercard have launched their latest product in Costa Rica, the first credit card aimed exclusively at women, the BN Mujer.

A Market analysis by CID Gallup in 2008 shows that Ticas (Costa Rican women) have a purchasing power of 80% in all consumer goods and 22.7% in household expenditures.

"More and more women are gaining power in the country's economy",s said Juan Carlos Corrales, assistant manager of the state bank.
