Venezuela Rejects US
Interference In Latin America
CARACAS - Venezuela this week rejected US
interference in Latin America, which latest
expression were the statements by US
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during
her regional tour.
President Hugo Chavez and the Venezuelan
Foreign Ministry condemned, in a press
release, the position of Clinton, who said
to be sorry for the Venezuelan people's
alleged suffering due to Caracas'
ineffective social policies.
The ministry rated the statements by the
former senator for New York as an aggression
against Venezuela.
Clinton has once again attacked the
Venezuelan government. The US Secretary of
State says the people is suffering,
precisely when the Bolivarian revolution has
rescued the country's natural resources and
riches, to become true the people's right to
health, education, or food, it added.
Venezuela snubs attempts from the US to
dictate norms for the functioning of our
democracies, the chancellery sustained.
This week, Caracas also censured the
resolution of the UN Security Council, which
imposed new sanctions against Iran for
continuing with its nuclear program.
Regarding that, the Venezuelan government
ratified its support for Teheran and the
right to use nuclear energy with peaceful
goals.
In the internal order, it stressed the
implementation of a new system for hard
currency access, an initiative aimed at
fighting speculation.
