Soccer Fever Produces Profits
In Nicaragua
MANAGUA - The fever of the soccer World Cup
of South Africa 2010 will produce good
profits in the trade, bars and restaurants
of Nicaragua, as they are having more
costumers than usual.
On Monday early morning, Oscar Huoston, a
Nicaraguan soccer fan turned on his TV to
watch the match of one of his favorite
teams, the Netherlands, which defeated
Denmark 2-0.
Meanwhile, in all the country everyone can
see signs of the World Cup at all the stores
and food places, despite Nicaragua is not
competing, but fans have their favorite
teams.
Huoston told Xinhua that he has three
favorite teams, namely Germany, Brazil and
the Netherlands.
The managers and owners of bars and
restaurants expect the sales to increase
between 20 to 100 percent during this month
of soccer fever.
Owner of the Mexican restaurant "Maria
Bonita" Mayra Duarte said that they expect
to increase their sales between 30 to 40
percent during the World Cup finals.
Other restaurants have set LCD mega screen,
tables, chairs and decorations related to
the World Cup, and they have expanded their
working hours from morning till the end of
the last match of the day.
