Maybe the
monkeys do this
but does this
mean you should?
One of the
challenges of
packing up,
selling
everything and
moving to Costa
Rica, is the
fact that
sometimes, this
is not for
everyone.
However more
times than not,
many foreigners
rely heavily on
information or
self concluded
opinions that if
their friends
can do it...so
can they.
After all why
not really?
Everyone seems
so happy to be
living in
paradise with
the news saying
that Costa Rica
is the happiest
place on earth.
We all know how
seriously we
take what the
news says so it
must be true
right? Wrong.
For every one
'positive'
reason to move
here there are
three
'negatives',
however if you
are willing to
accept the
positives with
the negatives
then you might
be on the right
track.
It also has to
be pointed out
that what some
consider to be
negative, others
might find
perfectly
acceptable and
part of daily
life. When it
comes to
foreigners
though, this is
hardly ever the
case. Normally
what Costa
Ricans find
acceptable and
normal - (IE:
waiting hours in
lineups) -
foreigners have
extreme
difficulty
accepting.
Relying on
information from
someone that
stands to profit
from your
relocation to
Costa Rica is
not such a great
idea. A
recommendation
would be to
research it
until you are
cross-eyed and
then come to
Costa Rica and
RENT for period
of time first.
This will give
you and your
family the
opportunity to
be absolutely
sure if Costa
Rica life is
right for you.
Selective
hearing is one
thing however
sorting through
the facts and
accepting only
the positives
without
considering the
negatives could
very likely be
detrimental to
your chances of
successfully
living in Costa
Rica.
Costa Rica is
amazing! When
one accepts life
in Costa Rica
and everything
that comes with
it, good or bad,
they are much
happier for it.
On a lighter
note however, if
you and your
family consider
as much as
possible and
accept 'such is
life in Costa
Rica', then your
transition to
living here most
certainly could
be much easier
than if you do
it blindly by
jumping on the
backs of what
your 'friends'
tell you.
Essentially the
point
being...DON'T BE
A MONKEY!
