Riteve Accepting Old Tires

Disposing properly of used tires can help prevent the spread of Dengue, as used tires are a five star hotel for the Aedes aegypti mosquito who are known to thrive in pools of water and discarded containers. Dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever are acute febrile diseases which occur in the tropics and can be life-threatening.

To help dispose properly of used tires, the Riteve vehicular inspection service is accepting any type and size of used tire at all its inspection stations across Costa Rica.

The campaign will run until June 24, 2010.
