International Debate in Cuba on Women, Gender and Rights

HAVANA - Representatives from 13 countries confirmed participation in the 3td International Conference on Women, Gender and Right to be held in this capital from June 30.

The event that will focus debates on the impacts of the current capitalist economic crisis on womenâ�Ös rights will gather delegates from Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia and Ecuador.

Also expected are experts from Guatemala, Honduras, Chile, Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Spain, explained Doris Quintana, specialist of the National Union of Jurists here in the Island.

Quintana told the National News Agency that there will be conferences by psychologists, social workers, sociologists and philosophers.

The event will conclude on July 2 and, according to its agenda, subjects open to debate are legislation, public policies and citizen security, gender violence from a legal point of view and aging and international migrations.

There will also be discussions on work and business spheres, the rights of property, administration of lands, education and legal studies, sexual diversity and integrative processes in Latin America and Europe.
